Professional Experience
Private Practice in San Mateo. Areas of focus include working with couples and individuals dealing with relationship issues, grief and loss, and other transitions. (2003-present).
Private Practice Internship in San Francisco under the license of Ruth Carter MFT. Areas of focus included couple and adult individual counseling dealing with relationship issues, grief and loss, and other transitions.
Counselor in Child Abuse Treatment Program (CAT) at Family Service Agency in San Mateo. Counseled individuals and families involved with Child Protective Services. Participated in Supervision Groups and Trainings. Developed treatment plans, wrote court reports and was responsible for billing of all clinical hours (2000-2003)
Counselor at Caminar CLC Redwood House a short term crisis residential treatment facility in Redwood City. Responsibilities included providing milieu and on to one counseling for people with severe psychiatric disabilities: providing activities and running groups for residents: developing treatment plans: dispensing medications: and providing crisis intervention (1999-2001).
Counselor at New Perspectives Center for Counseling in San Francisco. Experience with diverse populations, provided one-on-one, long and short term, low cost counseling. Developed skills and knowledge relevant to eventually entering private practice. Weekly training program in diverse theories was ongoing (1997-2000).
Educational Case Manager for Caminar CLC at Canada College Experience supporting students with psychiatric disabilities in their transition to college; doing outreach and recruiting for the program; attending inter-agency meetings, including with the county of San Mateo; developing curricula and teaching the Transition to College class (1998-1999).
Other Experience includes facilitating communication skills support group for Support Group Network in Palo Alto, counseling people with issues of grief and loss at KARA in Palo Alto, and milieu counselor at Caravan House in Palo Alto (1988-1998).
